Spring Holiday Algarve

Spring Holiday Algarve, in Portugal is also often called “month of May holiday”. Southern Europe is an ideal sunshine destination for a spring break in the Algarve, Portugal. Often chosen over other destinations by those who could use an extra shot of vitamin D after the long and cold winter months. And most (primary) schools sometimes even have 2 weeks off during the May holidays, often in combination with other holidays. Crocus or carnival holidays are also a good time to catch the first rays of sunshine or escape the carnival crowds at home. Of course, many people prefer to book their spring break as a ski or winter holiday in the mountains. But the majority of spring holidaymakers opt for a lovely sunshine holiday in the Algarve.

Carnival Holidays in the Algarve.

In February the days are a little shorter in Portugal. But the sun shines very regularly and the temperatures are still between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius. This means it is very pleasant weather to lie on the beach, albeit out of the cold northerly winds, and get a bit of a sun tan. It is also a nice temperature to go for a walk and enjoy the “new” nature, the blossoming almond trees and to enjoy something tasty in the sunrays on a restaurant terrace.

May holidays in the Algarve sun For a May holiday in the Algarve sun, it is great to enjoy the pleasant Mediterranean climate with low humidity, an Atlantic sea breeze and very pleasant temperatures of around 22 and 25 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the seawater then rises to around 20 degrees Celsius, making it pleasant for a swim in the ocean or in the swimming pool of our holiday homes in the Praia do Carvoeiro and Praia da Rocha areas.
